View From A Wagon has a good feel to it, not just a list of ingredients and instructions. It was an interesting read in itself. That is the good part. What I did not like is that the Kindle version has no table of contents, no means of searching for the recipe you are interested in, and no indexing, so it is very difficult to use. If you want a poultry main dish you must wade through the introduction,cooking techniques, baking, beef, and port dishes before landing on the first poultry dish. I have been trying to reduce the number of actual books in my small house, but formatting like this version makes me miss my old fashioned bound editions.

Just what I was looking for...we do a lot of camping and was looking for some different recipes...thanks!

I have always wanted to learn how to cook in a Dutch oven...but I didn't know how to get started or who to turn to for advice. Then I bought this book. Suddenly I no longer feel overwhelmed or intimated! I know what size to buy for the number of people I'll be cooking for. I learned what to look for in a good Dutch Oven, and the tools I'll need, I even learned how to season it properly. And a point that had always puzzeled me: Temperature control. I love this book and her recipies. I love her intellgence and humor. I can't wait to fire up the hardwood coals this weekend! I'm finally going to learn how to do this!

Well written and easily approachable. Recipes are easy to follow and delicious. The stories interspersed throughout are a nice diversion while waiting on your item(s) to finish cooking.

First I'll start by saying that Mrs.Ronie is an amazing cook. I have had the pleasure of eating her cooking and also helping her cook with the dutch ovens. The book is interesting and I have actually used some of the recipes cooking with her. It is a very interesting way of cooking and I am about to try and get into it myself. Mrs.Ronie and her husband Troy are some amazing people and it has been a pleasure knowing them. Mrs.Ronie the Watkins family love you and look forward to the sale next year.

I have had the pleasure of watching this lady in action and it is absolutely fasinating. If you want to cook over a campfire or in the comforts of your kitchen this is a great book to own. The author is the real deal, the recipes are top notch and you will not be disappointed.

This is a great confidence builder. It has given me many great ideas and a strong desire to go beyond the Boy Scout basics that I was stuck at. Thanks!

The material is covered clearly and concisely without being dumbed down. It is very clear from the start as to what it is and what it is not. It is not a play by play history of the church and the moments in history that have made it what it is today. What it is is an examination of the ideas that have driven the church through history. This book is more about the ideas than the people who had them. This book illustrates tat the Church is an work in progress and that's not a bad thing. Humanity is ever trying to elevate itself toward God and although it will never full reach the apex the merit is in the attempt, not the achievement. This book is a snapshot of man's attempt to glimpse the glory of God. When my RCIA teacher lent me this book I knew that the Catholic Church was the only place for me.

I am reading this book now and it is very well written.

I was saddened when Richard McBrien died. This book is certainly one of his best.

This book is everything we've come to expect from Richard McBrien, detailed scholarship, meticulous analysis, elegant writing, and a compelling story. Read any of the fine reviews to learn more about the range of topics addressed in this book. Five stars for the text.Regarding the Kindle edition which I purchased, I was very disappointed that the endnotes are not linked to the text. Authors like McBrien should be aware that Kindle versions are sadly inferior to the print edition if notes cannot be easily accessed. I suspect many read Father McBrien's works not just for the main text, but also for the informative notes. The Kindle is supposed to make reading more convenient, not more complicated. One star for the Kindle version.

Was a gift to my granddaughter,who is in College for her Master's degree in Theology.Book was a requirement to read. She stated that is a good book and helping in her studies.

For me as a non-Catholic, it is interesting, but "text bookie." He was a famous theologian, but apparently not the Church's favorite.

I actually brought this book for my mom and she loved it. I noticed my mom would pick up childrens books and so when Mandela passed I wanted to get her a book about him. I went directly to Amazon and found this book which I gave to her for Christmas and she really loves it.

Good price for something that I wanted.Good information so I was able to make a good choice and I got exactly what I chose!

With more than 20 years of cycling experience, including 5 years as a professional cyclist, Chris Carmichael has established his cycling expertise. He raced in the Tour de France with the first American team to participate and was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team. Chris has coached the National Cycling Team and the 1992 Olympic Cycling Team. He has served as the national coaching director for the U.S. Cycling Federation since 1993. His USCF duties also include overseeing the Athlete and Coaching Programs and the Olympic Preparation Department. Chris and his wife, Perrin, live in Colorado Springs, where Chris enjoys cycling, cross-country skiing, and cooking. Ed Burke has written or edited seven books on the subject of cycling and is renowned for translating the latest scientific research into practical applications for cyclists. He coached the 1980 and 1984 U.S. Olympic Cycling Teams and was the director of sports science and technology for the National Cycling Team from 1981 to 1987. About the Author

Brian S. Brooks has served as editor-in-chief of the Columbia Missourian and as European editor of Stars and Stripes, the U.S. military newspaper in Europe and the Middle East. He served as a faculty member and administrator at the Missouri School of Journalism for 38 years, the last 10 of those as associate dean for undergraduate studies. He continues to work part-time at the school. Brooks served as deputy director or director of the Dow Jones News Fund internship program at Missouri for more than 40 years. He is the co-author of four journalism textbooks and is a member of the Missouri Press Association Newspaper Hall of Fame. James L. Pinson has worked for newspapers in Missouri, Colorado and Michigan and holds a doctorate in journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism, where he also taught for six years. He additionally taught 25 years in the journalism program at Eastern Michigan University, where he is now a professor emeritus, and for 13 summers in the Dow Jones News Fund's internship program. In addition to this book, he and Brian S. Brooks are also co-authors of Working With Words: A Handbook for Media Writers and Editors along with Jean Gaddy Wilson (Bedford/St. Martin's).

Great condition!

This is the best Copyediting text I've found in a field largely bereft of such texts. As a Mizzou graduate, and former student of some among the authors, I am biased. I freely confess.

I bought this book for my professional editing class. The book is in great condition. I would recommend this book for any editing class.

No big review here other than the book did the job the instructor had hoped. We used it in class and then I sold it promptly.

I realize it is intended for a young audience, but when you are giving such a little bit of information about each president, I would have highlighted the most important things. Take for example the entry on John Quincy Adam's which includes the fact that he didn't win the popular vote (important), with mostly other very trivial facts, like his swimming naked in the Potomac and the rather subjective statement that "like his father before him, John Quincy Adams got on many people's nerves." Nothing about what he accomplished for the good of the country is included. I prefer Ken Burns's book Grover Cleveland Again, which is more difficult, but contains more substantial information. Also, I don't like cartoon drawings only. A real picture of each president would help kids remember faces better.

I absolutely love this book about the presidents. It has the right information that keeps my childs interest and even has me learning new stuff. There is a fun fact (or two) about every president. And the illustrations make it fun for the kids too. My kids pick this book as a bedtime book.

This says *updated* but it stops at Obama. Just a heads up to anyone looking to purchase. Other than that it’s a very kid friendly way to learn about our nations leaders

My son loves it (4 year old). The only caveat, I added some real pictures of the presidents and glued them on top of the cartoons that are showed in the book. I also learned very interesting things about the presidents.

My son has been fascinated with history, especially Abraham Lincoln. He loves weird facts and learning new things others don't. This book has bypassed his plants vs zombies, his hilo books and other comic books he's been reading. He loves it!! He is in second grade.

My son enjoyed the book but I was annoyed to see it mentioned that bill Clinton lying a out his affair. I do not want my young child knowing this information.

It is easy for him to understand the little facts associated with each president. At 8 years old he would not understand important facts like Watergate, Iraqi war, etc. He is however remembering the presidents by facts such as 'which president loved peanuts.'Good choice for elementary students, highly recommend the purchase.

We LOVE this book!!! My 6-year-old is a history buff, and this book (and the musical Hamilton) is part of the reason why! Fun, kid-friendly facts about each of the presidents and their time in office. Highly recommended!!!
