I gave this as a gift to one of my best friends. She’s an AKA and a young black woman so I thought the cover and mini quotes in the pages was would be great for her. She loved it but I personally wished it were a hard cover journal. If people have journals chances are that book will be traveling with them on a daily basis and since it is not a hard cover it is easily to bend and rip. I didn’t realize it wasn’t a hard cover until I received it in the mail. Besides that I really like it!

In no other book could a reader learn so much and feel so much by reading just a few simple words on paper: Dear God, Can you really do everything? I wish I could too.” Or, Dear God, Last week it rained three days. We thought it would be like Noah’s Ark but it wasn’t. I’m glad because you could on take two of things, remember, and we have three cats.” This simple yet meaningful little book, filled with letters ranging from wise to naïve, should be at the bedside of every adult to be used as a refuge from a jaded world. If only a child could remain a child forever.

This is a lovely, funny, wee book, Friends sent it to my husband when he was on hospice and I was struck by what a thoughtful little gift it was to receive at that time, more appropriate than a get well card... a nice way to say "We're thinking of you". I have borrowed their idea and now send it instead of a card or flowers.

I bought this little book as a stocking stuffer for both my grandmother (in her 90s) and my nephew (age 9). They both love the book! The letters are so cute and accompanied by drawings and pictures. It's very well put together and an excellent little book to give a variety of people from young to old. I "favorited" it so I can buy again for future gifts.

If you love the naivety of children, this is a fun book. It may be a nice book to give someone who is sick in bed, instead of a card. It's sureto cheer you up!

Needs to be updated to reflect current thinking in training. Even the photo is old school! Most valuable part is the phasing - that is telling trainees not to focus on just one thing but how to break it into phases and what to do. If it does get updated I would suggest a section dealing with yunge3r athletes. There is such a push now at such early ages that I see kids doing things their body is not ready for.

My husband had the 1st version of this book and requested the new, revised edition. He was very happy with this book and liked that it included updated information and cd.He uses this for hockey conditioning when he is playing (he plays in a beer league) but also uses it for conditioning when he is cycling as well.

Book was suppose to come with a DVD in the description it said the DVD was included however it was not.

This book explains the building blocks with a great information. It takes an indepth look at all of the components of hockey training. This books also goes through the phases of training, from off-season to mid-season; with a workout program for all different phases and the knowledge to create your own workouts.

I'm an over 40 player and bought this hoping to get some conditioning tips. As I was looking it over, my neighbour, a trainer at Golds asked if she could borrow it. She's using it with her clients and won't give it back - 2 months now. Now I have to buy another one for me. It has the excerise routines she feels are right for hockey conditioning.

As a former semi-pro player this was my bible in my younger years and I just bought the updated version with DVD to get back into playing! This is a must have not only for hockey players, it has been key for me staying injury free in soccer and hiking as well!

I needed a gift for a professional who has everything. This woman was my surgeon and I wanted to give her something as a thank you as the surgery changed my life! I loved this book.

The quotes in the book don’t really apply to a lot of situations. I thought it was going to be a book my friend could just open up and see a great quote she could apply to any situation. Instead, you’ll find some random thing Condoleeza Rice said about the government or how Michelle Obama feels about living in the White House. It just isn’t applicable to every day life.

This was a gift for Boss's Day and my Supervisor absolutely loves it; she uses quotes before starting our staff meeting every week.

Wonderful inspirational book. Great photography. I received one at a women’s event and have since ordered two for gifts.

This book updates completely the information on birds of prey and pigeons and doves found in the BSAVA Manual of Raptors, Pigeons and Waterfowl, published twelve years ago. The advent of the new BSAVA Manual of Farm Pets, which encompasses waterfowl, has allowed a change in focus to feature passerine birds in detail for the first time. The Manual starts with the all-important area of husbandry for the three groups, including those kept as working birds as well as ornamental and pet species. More general topics, such as handling, examination, diagnostic procedures and surgery are dealt with across the groups, with notes as required on specific differences. An excellent chapter is included on endoscopy and endosurgery - a major technique for avian patients.
